Printer Ink Cartridge Refill – The Difference Between The Pigment Ink And Dye-Based Ink Cartridge
How many of us know, or want to know, what type of ink is there in the printer ink cartridge refill that we purchase for our printer? Very few, if any. In fact, I am willing to wager that for many people, this is the first time they hear that there are two types of inks for the printer ink cartridge refill they are buying. However, now that they know about it, I am sure that they would also want to know which one would be better and why.
Which One Is Superior To The Other?
At the outset, let me inform you that the pigment based ink is far superior to the dye-based ink. The printer ink cartridge refill which uses pigment ink will give printouts which do not fade with time. These printouts will also be waterproof as soon as the ink dries on the paper.
Most of the original printer ink cartridge refills come filled with pigment-based ink. Only when the ink finishes and it needs to be refilled, that you need to think of the quality of the ink you are going to fill it with. Most of the upcoming industries use pigment based ink or high quality dye-based ink. The refill kits too mostly use dye-based ink but of good quality. This is the reason for which, people who use refills do not feel much difference between the original and the refills.
However, there is a third type of players in the market – and that is the spurious market. These manufacturers use the worst possible quality of materials in order to cut costs of production and maximize their profits. These types of printer ink cartridge refill will have ink that bleeds, smudges and spills over, because it is of a very inferior quality.
This is why you should avoid at all costs buying spurious products. The printer ink cartridge refill which are marketed as recycled, clearly mention their credentials and on checking out you will find that they have the required licenses and permission to be in the business. However, the spurious products do not have such a back up and hence it is easy to find out, once you are a bit persuasive and curious.
Be careful when you choose the recycled stuff that you do not get cheated by these unscrupulous people who are out for a fast buck and have no conscience other than making profit.
